2024 Grand Marshal: Lourdes Robinson

District of Columbia Youth Mayor, Lourdes Robinson announced as Grand Marshals for the 19th Annual MLK Holiday DC Peace Walk and Parade on January 15, 2024 in Washington, DC.

Lourdes Robinson is a 17-year-old high school student living in Washington, DC. Robinson has advocated in her community for the preponderance of her life. She serves as the District of Columbia Youth Mayor, where she’s in her third term. She is heavily involved in International Affairs. In summer of 2022,, she participated in the Youth Ambassadors Program where she served as a 2022 United States Youth Ambassador for the US Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Lourdes has devoted her advocacy to several issues, including youth advocacy, climate change, gun violence, mental health, and more. She hopes her advocacy influences youth to use their voice. Her most recent work was founding a Not-For-Profit Organization providing a Mental Health Outlet for Black Youth in the District. Lourdes Robinson loves advocacy and creating change for the betterment of youth and believes public service is where she belongs.
