Dear Friends,

Please read the attached information and the e-mail correspondence about the 2013 Law Camp Program. Ballou Senior High School and the Academies at Anacostia have been chosen to participate in this year’s program. Fifteen Ballou students signed up for the program and are excited by the enrichment opportunities that this program offers them. However, they may not be able to participate in the program because the school does not have the funds for their bi-monthly transportation from the school to the DC Superior Court. Members of the Ballou staff are prohibited from using their personal vehicles to transport the students. Deep in my heart I believe that there are people in our community who can help these students in their quest for a brighter future. If you can help them, please contact me on my cell phone at 202-340-0788. If you cannot personally help them, please forward this e-mail to someone who may be able to assist them. We must not allow these students to miss this opportunity.

Yours for community progress,

Philip Pannell

Hello Faith Partners,

We are mobilizing persons and faith institutions on February 27, 2013 at the Supreme Court. The Voting Rights Act 1965 (section 5) is under attack by Shelby County (Alabama). We must let the courts know we will not give an inch when it comes to our voting rights.

See the attached flyer and one pager put together by a member of our Social Justice Ministry (Phil Portlock). If you would like to attend the rally or want more information please contact me.

Please forward email.
